Navigated Surgery at Brånemark Las Palmas
Innovation has always been one of the mottos of our Dentistry and dental implants Center in Las Palmas. Navigated surgery is one of the latest techniques developed in the field of Implantology to improve the quality and speed of treatments.
At Brånemark Las Palmas Center we incorporated this technology in 2021, with which greater precision is achieved in implant placement compared with traditional surgery, since it is indicated in extreme cases where the available bone to place the implant is scarce, or also when the teeth neighboring the missing tooth on either side are very close to each other, making it difficult to place the implant safely in the traditional way.
This procedure also helps us avoid invading other anatomical structures such as the floor of the nose, the maxillary sinuses, the inferior alveolar nerve canal, etc.
Implant surgery in Las Palmas navigated by computer
Before the surgical procedure to place the dental implants, the position of the implants is planned in specific software with the help of a 3D scanner and an X-Clip device that provides us with a digital sample of the mouth and its bone relationship. Thanks to the X-GUIDE system we can follow this planning in real time and use it as a guide during surgery.
This gives us greater precision compared with traditional surgery as well as maintaining absolute control of the burs through the software.
This is the main difference between guided surgery and navigated surgery: in the first case we use real surgical guides or splints to mark and work at the exact place where the implant must be placed, whereas in the second we have this precision without the need to design and manufacture these guides. The entire treatment and procedure is prepared and controlled from the X-GUIDE application.
Maximum precision in dental implant treatment
Implant treatment ensures the recovery of the functionality and naturalness of the smile; however, that is no longer our only goal. With technological progress, new needs are also discovered that we must take into account to meet patients’ demands.
With a 99% success rate, computer-navigated surgery holds the keys to offering a personalized service in which, in addition to guaranteeing quality results, we also look after the comfort and safety of our patients.
Thus, thanks to navigated surgery, at Brånemark Las Palmas we can offer advantages such as:
Better treatment planning: we can design the exact position of the implant and supervise all the details that will influence its stability.
Greater precision: the software helps us prevent injury to the surrounding anatomical structures and we can often operate without the need for stitches.
Total control of the tools during the procedure: navigated surgery is a minimally invasive procedure.
Shorter procedure time. The sophistication of the computer software allows us to place implants in less time after the extraction or loss of the tooth.
Shorter recovery period after the procedure. By reducing stitches and making a smaller incision in the gum, the patient can return to their usual routine sooner than with traditional surgery.
